Natural resources are the foundation of human life. Forests play a vital role in the rain cycle, water conservation, soil fertility, biodiversity, and climate balance.
The key responsibilities of the Forest Department include protecting forest areas, conserving wildlife habitats, preventing illegal exploitation of forest resources, reducing human–wildlife conflict, and raising awareness about forest conservation.
Protecting trees and natural resources is not the responsibility of government departments alone; public participation is equally important. Building environmental awareness together with students, youth, local bodies, and community organisations will bring long-term benefits.
